Find your favorite star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and enjoy the warmth of the sun on Venice Beach or Santa Monica Beach with an ice cream in your hand.
(490 miles – 7-hours-and-25-minute drive)
Your next stop is the Grand Canyon, which is a long drive – therefore we recommend that you leave Los Angeles early in the morning. However, great experiences await you on the drive, and definitely at your destination. On your drive you’ll pass some of the old Route 66, which certainly is worth a visit. You’ll pass a small route 66 city named Seligman, and we strongly recommend you that you take a pit stop here to get a taste of the real Route 66. You’ll also pass the Mojave Desert on the road. It is incredible to see how the landscape changes while driving from California into Arizona. When you arrive in the Grand Canyon you’ll have the rest of the day to experience the wonder of the Grand Canyon. The next day you have the opportunity to experience the Grand Canyon to its fullest. You can experience Grand Canyon either on horseback, on foot, or from the air – the possibilities are endless!
(275 miles – 4-hours-and-20-minute drive)
Then it’s time to visit the place where anything can happen. £1 can turn into a million, and you can visit Egypt, Venice and Paris all in one day. The lights of Las Vegas stretch as far as the eye can see, and all of the hotels are enormous. You can experience magic shows, hypnosis shows and concerts with Celine Dion or Elton John – every experience is located on The Strip with all the magnificent hotels. Experience one of the many casinos, try out a slot machine or put a couple of dollars on the roulette table. Even if you are not a big gambler, it is a must to try and put a dollar in a slot machine. You never know if you’ll win millions! Las Vegas is one of a kind and we guarantee that it won’t disappoint.
(149 miles – 2-hours-and-18-minute drive)
Next stop is Death Valley, where you stopover on your way toYosemite. Death Valley is the lowest point in the US, and is always hot. The hottest temperature in the world was measured in Death Valley at 56.7 degrees. When you feel the heat, you will quickly find out why the valley is called Death Valley. Discover Badwater Basin, located 100 meters below sea level, which got its name because of the undrinkable water – don’t even try, it is totally unbearable and outright disgusting! We know you will enjoy this beautiful and unique atmosphere.
(293 miles – 5-hours-and-32-minute drive)
Next, you have two nights in Yosemite, where nature is once again in focus. Yosemite is one of our favorite areas in the United States. It is beautiful and unique, and the 3,000 km2 park features no less than 4,000 different plant and animal species, so there is ample opportunity to experience exactly what you want. Whether you like hardcore hiking or just want a quiet walk in the beautiful surroundings, you’ll have the opportunity in Yosemite. We recommend that you get up early in the morning and go to the park, which is just waiting to be explored. It is beautiful and huge and you have to prioritize what you want to see, because the park is so big that you really have to spend multiple days to explore everything.
(197 miles – 3-hours-and-58-minute drive)
From Yosemite you continue to The West Coast, where you have a single night in Monterey. A good tip is to start your coastal drive just south of Monterey, where you’ll experience the Big Sur area – one of the most beautiful sights along Highway 1. From here, drive up to Monterey, where you have a stopover before heading to San Francisco. In Monterey there is great opportunity to relax in the small harbor, visit the popular Aquarium in the city, or go whale watching in the Pacific. Prepare yourselves for a very scenic drive from Monterey to San Francisco, where you can make many stops along the way and enjoy the view, take beautiful pictures, or just relax in peace and quiet.
(118 miles – 1-hour-and-50-minute drive)
Next you will drive north along Highway 1 until you come to San Francisco, where you will be spending four days. The city is very different from the other big cities that California has to offer, and is packed with things to do! San Francisco has a unique atmosphere that cannot be described, but has to be experienced to understand. The hilly streets, the well-known cable cars, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the clam chowder in Boudin’s famous sour-dough bread bowls will all have you falling in love with this coastal city.
(5-hour-and-12-minute flight)
From San Francisco you fly to Honolulu, Hawaii. You have six nights on the beautiful paradise island of Waikiki Beach, located in Honolulu, where you can relax and think about everything you have experienced in California. Honolulu has unique beaches with azure water and snow-white beaches as far as the eye can see. Waikiki Beach is a three-kilometer long sandy beach just waiting for you to lie down and relax. If you get tired of lying still and relaxing then don’t worry, Honolulu has a lot of activities. On the beach you can enjoy different water sports like water skiing, jet skiing, parachuting behind a speed boat, and much more. You can also explore Pearl Harbor, which was attacked by the Japanese under WWII, and learn the history of the horrific attack. If you didn’t get enough nature while in California you can also explore the northern part of the island, which has some beautiful hikes.
After six wonderful nights, you’ll head back home to England.
